Simone gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had. I did a drastic change of going from really long hair to above the shoulder hair. She took time to show me how to style it different ways. I can honestly say that I spent almost 20 years of my life relentlessly searching for a stylist that could make my hair shine. I always seemed to leave the salon with something that was acceptable, but didn't have pizzaz; it was lackluster. Thus, unsatisfied, I filtered through a lifetime of salons until I found Salon Sophia. I can honestly say that for the first time in my life, I have the PERFECT coloring done on my hair. Most importantly, I know nothing about coloring or hairstyles or make-up, for that matter so when I tell stylists I want certain colors they do it because I ask for it even tho they know its not the proper color for my skin tone. That is, until I met Simone at Salon Sophia. I came in and told her what I wanted. She looked over it and said she knew what would look a bit better, and Oh, my goodness....People literally stop and ask me where I get my hair done. That's never happened fo me before. Yea. Trust me, Simone and the ladies at Salon Sophia are amazing.I love my hair!

Had the absolute best experience here! I had previously been to two salons that were awful and wrecked my hair, but Katelyn legitimately revived it. Not only was she so much fun to talk with while she saved my hair, but the entire team was absolutely a delight. I finally found a salon that knows how to really follow through on what I'm looking for in highlights, and one where I feel totally comfortable during the process! I usually don't take time to review places, but this place is fantastic. Hands down best.

I was so nervous about going to a new salon, especially wanting a shorter haircut. They worked with me on the time frame I needed for the appointment by asking what worked for me! Very professional! A lovely lady by the name of Carly cut my hair and she did such an amazing job!!! She was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable. When I was new to the area, I looked for a new salon by looking for any woman, whose hair was really beautifully cut - in the grocery store, one day, I found such a woman!

And she recommended Janice Perry, who is at Salon Sophia - She and the rest of the staff ( on occasion) have been taking care of me, and my family, including for my wedding, for 10 years now!

Omg what a great place , everyone was so friendly. I went just for a haircut with Samone and she suggested a way to fix my awful color job I did myself. I have been looking for a stylist for 3 years now and tried many salons in the area and I was just not happy. She fix my botched color job & gave me a great haircut . I love my hair now. I feel like after years of going to different places based on deals, coupons, whatever's available, it's nice to really have a stylist. One who knows your hair and totally understands what you want when you say it.

After my stylist left Main Street Hair Company, I decided to look for someone closer to our apartment. I saw that there was a Yelp deal for noobs at this place, so I made my way in. They hooked me up with Katelyn and it was seriously a match made in Heaven.

I knew the minute I saw her that she was going to understand what I want...Fake gingers get how to do fake ginger. And she did. The first time I was there, she listened to what I wanted and made it happen. The second time, I told her I wanted a smidge of change, and she made it happen. The last time, I told her we were going brown...and threw her for a loop...but she made it happen. And it looks great. Of course, after Halloween, I'll be back in the world of red...but for now I'm totally diggin' the new look.

Haircuts? Yep, she does a FAB job on those, as well. I tell her an idea, and she runs with it...and I always look amazing. At least right when I leave the salon. Until I fall down. Or walk into a pole. Or some other freak accident occurs.

Plus she's just all around awesome.

I really love that the rest of the staff is super nice and welcoming. It's just a really friendly place.

Suzie Q has been styling my hair now for at least a couple years. She always provides me (and my kids) with VIP treatment when we're in there. I'm real particular about my hair and Suzie does not miss a beat. Yesterday we went with an entirely new style and she nailed it. Every now and then we take a different approach with my hair. Suzie does not rush through the job, taking her time and making sure I'm 100% satisfied. She's also genuinely interested in me as a person and tolerates my rogue sense of humor. The other staff is always friendly to me (and my kids) as well with their hospitality and treats. Always a terrific experience when I'm there.

Bought the groupon for this place on a whim because it was a great deal and was looking for a place a little bit closer to home, and they definitely delivered!! I was scheduled with Symone and she did an amazing job! I described to her exactly what I wanted and that's exactly what she gave me, she ever parted my hair where I always do. Sounds small but not something that always happens. She was also so friendly and easy to talk to. The shampoo she gave was so nice as well, I felt like I was going to fall asleep.

Definitely recommend this place and I will for sure be back. Everyone is so nice and the ambience here is so relaxing. Exactly what I was looking for!

I just have to reiterate how great a job Symone does. I decided to go more blonde than before with more layers and once again she did fantastic work, even while being the receptionist that day. Thank you Symone for my hair looking amazing! She's not only super nice, but again a great conversationalist and a superb stylist.

I tried Salon Sophia in Downers Grove after living in Downers Grove for 3 years I could not find a hair stylist that listened to what or how I wanted my hair. I called and got a appointment for that day with Symone , as soon as I sat in her chair and explained what haircut & color I wanted she understood everything I said & was honest about the color I wanted. I have been doing my own color for years because I could not find a stylist that truly listened, well Symone did & gave me great advice & I love my cut & color . Now I go once a month and she has transformed my hair into great shape. Its has never been this shiny and so easy to do . I also got eyelash extensions by Kirsten who did a amazing job. From the receptionist all the way to getting my eyelashes done it's a great place. Krystal is the receptionist & is so helpful with any questions you might have. I have never been happier with a salon. I can go in & not worry about what I will look like . They are wonderful !

Had a great experience with Domineke. She did exactly what I asked of her. Very nice shop, clean and comfortable. When you get your hair washed(which felt heavenly)the chair is actually a lounge chair. Lean back and put your feet up! Great touch! The people who work there are very welcoming! Loved the whole experience!
